Early Call Exhortation
Topic: Don't hang your harps
Date: 13/1/2025
BIBLE REFERENCE: Psalm 137
MEDITATION - .Psalms 137:1-3 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.
For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
If God is everywhere, should our sufferings continue to wear us out?. Yeah so it seems but when we are broken through pain and sufferings, the glory it produces far outweighs what the enemy intended for us. Infact it will be a total departure from the plan of the adversary. In Psalm 137 which contrasts what happened to Paul and Silas in the book of Acts ; the Israelites were told to sing Zion song in a strange land. This did not sit down well with them, unlike Paul and Silas who prayed and sang to shake the heavens in the book of Act, the captured Jews felt slighted and mocked. Rather they hung their harps on the willows. Sadly, the willows are symbolic of a crying tree. The Jews grieved and travelled in nostalgia, it made them swear never to forget their land...(but swearing)? Psalms 137:v 5
"If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning."
Should we get to the extent that the enemy requires of us a new song? God forbid. Bible says even though life presents circumstances to look like "a mountain skipping into the seas" our hearts should not faint. There, the Lord will meet us and we will never be reminded by the enemy to sing praise to God. The song will proceed from our belly; Even when the enemy mocks us we should remember what Mathew 10 v 19- says: But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. See, it doesn't matter how you want to express it, you could sing or you could speak. The bible further states in Isaiah 51 v 16 "I have put my words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of my hand— I who set the heavens in place, who laid the foundations of the earth, and who say to Zion, ‘You are my people.’”.
With him is restorative power; with him you can evolve. (The hearts of the kings is controlled by him). Tough times don't last, don't hang your harps yet.
